About Speed Test
Welcome to the WebSyrup Speed Test. This speed test is uniquely designed to test your current Internet connection speed. Upon completion, you will be notified as reports about your connection. This HTML5 speed test does not require Flash or Java, and works on all devices including tablets and smartphones. Please click the 'START' button to begin the test. For best results close out other open tabs in your browser and ensure your computer is mostly idle. This speed test will test your Internet connection speed, including a significant amount of additional information such as latency/ping, jitter, download speed, upload speed, in order to provide you a detailed report on what type of services your connection can support. These services include VoIP (voice over IP), live video streaming such as YouTube or Netflix, gaming, and more. Unlike most speed tests, the Mobile speed test does not require Flash or Java, and instead uses more universally compatible HTML5, which allows the test to run on all devices including tablets or smartphones. While the speed test is running, the Internet speed meters will animate. These Internet speedometers will provide information about your Internet connection speed in realtime. |
What do my test results mean?
Here is a brief explanation as to what your test results mean in relation to your current broadband connection:
Latency/Ping:the measurement of the time it takes a single packet to be sent from your computer to a remote computer and then back.
Jitter:the measurement of consecutive latency test results. Your ideal jitter result is as close to zero as possible.
Download Speed:less a measurement of speed, this is how many bits per second can be downloaded from one computer to another via the Internet.
Upload Speed:less a measurement of speed, this is how many bits per second can be uploaded from one computer to another via the Internet.
